Worship Service Comment/Ideas Box

In order to continually enhance our worship services, the Worship and Music Committee has provided box in the narthex for comments and ideas regarding our worship services. Though we plan to make no changes before we have our new pastor, the committee does want to solicit ideas for improvement as well as comments regarding what you presently like about our worship services so that those parts are not changed. Take time to let us know your thoughts or suggestions you might have to make our services better. The box will be available until Christmas to provide you ample time to comment.

Everyone is invited to a WELCA sponsored event at church on Monday,

November 13 at 7:00 p.m. to meet Katharina vonBora Luther, former nun and wife of Martin Luther. She will be telling us about her life with the church reformer whose 500th anniversary we are celebrating this year.

Come and learn about this bold woman of faith and the ups and downs of

being married to the famous Dr. Luther.

Sarah Circle

Sarah Circle will meet at Windsor Manor on November 16th at 1:30 pm. Hostess is Laurie Gunder and Bible Study Leader is Shirley Johnson.

Empty prescription pill containers are being collected! They will then be sipped over to Africa for use there. They need to be cleaned and labels taken off. Then just bring to the church and put in the box, that for now, is located on the table in the Narthex. Thanks for

helping in this neat recycling project.

Tie Blankets

A couple years ago, Grace Braun made and donated 50 fleece blankets to Blank Children’s Hospital for her Confirmation Internship project. Grace enjoyed the experience so much that she is doing it again with the help of her friends. This time, she has a goal of 150 blankets! In order for Grace to complete her goal, she needs some help. Grace will be accepting donations of money and/or fleece fabric (in 1 1/2 yd cuts). Donations can be given to Grace, April, or left in the office with Shelley. Grace will also be scheduling some dates on Wednesdays and Sundays so the youth and other church members can help make tie blankets for another

Christmas delivery! (Dates to be determined later).

Hearing Assisted Devices Available!!!

Another great addition has been added to First Lutheran. Hearing assisted devices were added this week for use by anyone needing assistance with hearing the

worship service better. The portable units will be kept in the office. Just stop in the office to pick up a unit along with earbuds. Each person will get their own set of

earbuds to store here at church.

Eventually we hope to have

little plastic boxes to store the earbuds in; however, until then please use the

provided plastic bag and label it with your name. A big thank you to all who were

instrumental in getting these ordered and installed. What a wonderful addition this is to First Lutheran!
